Gregory P. Hengber, Esq. is a founding partner of our firm, bringing over 25 years of litigation and trial practice experience dedicated to the investigation and defense of insurance-related matters on behalf of insurers, including civil prosecution of fraudulent insurance claims. While he has a wealth of experience in insurance knowledge and coverages, Greg concentrates his practice on First Party Property (Commercial and Residential), Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM), Personal Injury Protection (PIP), bodily injury and property damage claims, both 1st and 3rd party, with a special emphasis on suspect and suspicious claims.
Throughout his career, Greg has been a leading figure in the defense of insurers and the civil prosecution of fraudulent insurance claims to recover monies on their behalf. He had the privilege of representing the Florida Defense Lawyers Association as amicus curiae and presenting oral argument on their behalf before the Florida Supreme Court.
Greg’s professional journey included serving as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of a Healthcare Technology company handling litigation of commercial and Intellectual Property matters in various State and Federal Courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
In 2021, Greg returned to the firm, resuming his role in assisting insurance companies with the investigation, defense, and litigation of suspect, suspicious, and fraudulent claims. His primary focus remains on First Party Property claims, including Homeowners, Commercial, Automobile and Personal Property. He has been a guest presenter at numerous insurance conferences, including serving as a featured speaker at Florida insurance conferences statewide, offering his insights and expertise as an approved Continuing Legal Education instructor for the Florida Department of Financial Services.
Greg is an accomplished civil trial lawyer and litigator, leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients in all aspects of insurance matters, from pre-suit investigation through trial. His dedication to providing strategic and effective representation is evident in his track record of success spanning decades.
Greg graduated cum laude from Stetson University, earning a Bachlor of Arts degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sociology. He attended Stetson University, College of Law, where he was a member of their renowned Mock Trial team, winning statewide and international competitions, as well as serving as a Trial Advocacy teaching assistant. He also received various academic awards and graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctor degree.
Outside of the courtroom, Greg enjoys many hobbies, including the restoration of classic muscle cars. He also spends as much time as he can with his wife, daughter and son.
