Nicole Hartigan, Esq.

With over a decade of experience in insurance defense, Nicole brings a wealth of expertise to GLG. She joins us from USAA, where she played a pivotal role in launching the company’s first in-house Personal Injury Protection (PIP) department.

Prior to her tenure at USAA, Nicole served as in-house counsel for Allstate Insurance Company, where she focused on Special Investigations Unit (SIU) cases involving PIP fraud, Homeowner’s fraud, and Property fraud. Her responsibilities included conducting pre-suit Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), investigations, and managing complex litigation matters.

Nicole’s legal career began at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, where she served as an Assistant State Attorney for six years. During this time, she honed her trial skills and gained extensive courtroom experience, having tried over 50 jury trials in both criminal and civil courts.

Nicole has extensive experience in the areas of personal injury protection (PIP), bodily injury/uninsured motorist, property damage, arson, peer-to-peer ride share, complex coverage, and complex fraud issues. Nicole has represented clients in both pre-suit investigations, as well as mediations, arbitrations, and trials.  Nicole’s trial and mediation experience is wide ranged, covering both first-party and third-party litigation involving negligence, breach of contract, and fraud.

Nicole is regularly requested to provide trainings to various carriers on a multitude of topics including: statutory interpretation and caselaw updates, uncovering and investigating insurance fraud rings, prosecution of autobody repair shops, and handling pre-suit investigations.  In June 2024, Nicole, along with partners Zasha, Kelsey, and Andrea, presented at the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committees (FIFEC) annual conference on how to take a worldclass examination under oath.

Nicole graduated from Rutgers University in 2005 before earning her Juris Doctorate from The George Washington University Law School in 2008. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and the Middle District of Florida, and is a member in good standing with the Florida Bar Association.

In 2018, Nicole was nominated as the Insurance Fraud Fighter of the Year for her work handling fraudulent diminished value claims, saving her client over $1,000,000 in payouts on fraudulent claims.

Nicole is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Leadership Council for Legal Diversity, where she served as a 2018 Pathfinder. Her dedication to excellence and commitment to diversity and inclusion make her a valuable asset to our firm.
